While the JUVÉDERM® injection process is minimally invasive, there may be some short-term side effects like redness, swelling, tenderness, itching, bruising, firmness, and small bumps at the injection site. These side effects are typically mild and short-lived, usually resolving within a week. If swelling or redness persists for longer than a few days or weeks, please reach out to our office so we can assess the situation and determine a safe path forward.

Adults over the age of 18 who are looking for natural-looking results are good candidates for JUVÉDERM® injections. Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or who have an allergy to lidocaine or hyaluronic acid should not use JUVÉDERM®. Those with an auto-immune disorder should consult with their healthcare professional before seeking treatment.

Before treatment, avoid blood-thinning medications like ibuprofen and drinking alcohol 24 hours before treatment. Please arrive with a clean, make-up-free face. After your treatment, you can continue your regular routine, but strenuous activity, including exercise, should be avoided for at least one day.
