No, dermaplaning does not cause the hair that is removed to change color or grow back thicker. The fine hair that is found on your face and some other parts of the body is called vellus hair or “peach fuzz.” Vellus hair is naturally fine and lightly colored and it grows back the same way—with no changes in thickness or color after removal.

Is dermaplaning safe if I have certain skin conditions?

How often should I get dermaplaning and can it be combined with other treatments?

Your individual treatment plan may be slightly more or less often, depending on the concerns you’d like to address.
